“The work itself was excellent, but once the old slates were off the guys found damaged sarking that we could not see from the ground. The price had to go up to put it right. It was frustrating at the time, though they showed us photos and explained why it could not be left as it was.”

Thank you for the honest feedback, Eileen. You are right that the increase was unwelcome, but the sarking was too far gone to cover safely. Re-slating over damaged sarking would have voided our guarantee and left the roof at risk of leaks within a year or two. We will always show photographic evidence and agree the next step before any extra work begins.
